At our trip to Grand Canyon from Las Vegas in December of 2014 there was intermediate stop to see other Wonder of the World, Hoover Dam. It located relatively close to Las Vegas at the border between Nevada and Arizona. The observation point was at the upper road Gallighan bridge. It is useless to try describing the Dam by words. It is Big that is it. Interesting moments to observe geological layers at the shores of Colorado River that the Hoover Dam overlaps to produce waste amount of clean electricity.
