Summer vacation settlements, sadovodstvo, initially were for supplementing with own harvest a diet of townspeople in poor supplied cities with fresh vegetables and fruits in former Soviet Union. About 0.1 acres of land per family of lucky ones gives at summer some relaxation from work big city industrial work routine in contrasting bucolic environment. It was really good for kids too. What was not too good was administrative structure of the settlement with goal to make everybody concentrated on the food production in expense of comfort and size of buildings to live in. With time the collectivism nature of administration diminished into collection of membership fee and list of members keeping. Here is gathering of all members annual meeting in Birch Grove settlement in Kobralovo.
